Kaizer Chiefs defender Cyril Nzama could return to action on Sunday when Amakhosi entertain defending champions Santos at Olympia Park following a lengthy lay-off due to injury.

After his return from trials at English Premiership side West Ham, Nzama featured in the 2-0 victory against Ajax Cape Town on January 19.

Nzama subsequently missed the 0-0 draw against Santos on January 29 with a knee injury, then the 2-0 defeat to Wits (February 2) and finally the shock 1-0 defeat to Dynamos this weekend.

According to the Amakhosi medical team, Nzama started training with the rest of the squad on Monday at the gym and should be available for selection this weekend.

Meanwhile, defender Fabian McCarthy will have to wait a while longer before a full return to action. McCarthy has been struck down by a thigh muscle and will only start training with the rest of the squad next week.

Midfielder Arthur Zwane is still recovering from a groin injury. He has completed six weeks of rest and is ready to start normal training routine. Zwane will, however, require two weeks of training before he is considered for selection.
