Obua Looking To Prevail Over Leopards

Kaizer Chiefs 2005/06 Player of the Season, David Obua, has vowed to continue pulverising Black Leopards players into submission when the two teams lock horns in a crunch Castle Premiership league match at the Thohoyandou Stadium (20h00) on Saturday night.

The last time these two teams met was in the pre-season Limpopo Soccer Challenge and Obua left an indelible mark on the game with one of his signature free-kicks, a ferocious long distance strike in the opening match of the tournament.

Obua says it’s all systems go, despite some indifferent league form that has seen Chiefs lying 10th on the log with 11 points after nine matches, 11 points adrift of pace-setters Silver Stars.

“It is no secret that we have not been doing well but all everything will definitely change against Leopards. We have firmly put our sour Telkom Knockout exit behind us and as a goal-driven team it was a bitter pill to swallow.

“The league title is important because all teams are judged by their dominance in the league campaign worldwide over. We have done well away from home, despite losing to Bloemfontein Celtic, and I am positive that we will prevail.”

The partnership of Shaun Bartlett and Rotson Kilambe in attack, coupled with the precise distribution of consummate midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi, supported by tenacious Tinashe Nengomashe from the midfield is a formula for success the ‘Amakhosi’ faithful hopes turns into fruition this coming Saturday evening.
