Kaizer Chiefs made headlines in the past week after an innovative and creative launch featuring new signings at the Club for the 2012/2013 PSL Season.

Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung, featured a certain number ‘3’ jersey that when unveiled, caused supporters to sing with joy at the Club’s new acquisition.

Following the Club’s true tradition of being trendsetters, the Marketing Director’s image has been on several online, print and broadcast platforms, making sure that Kaizer Chiefs has stayed top of mind throughout the pre-season.

The newsworthy brand has delivered on its promise to make supporters happy and continue to ‘sing with joy’ this new season, by unveiling 7 key Players, including Eric ‘Tower’ Mathoho. So, ‘Tower, is home.

Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com for the first time the no nonsense defender spoke openly about his ambition to don the famous gold and black and the ambition to win trophies with the Club.

You must be relieved at last your move has been confirmed…

It has always been my wish growing up in Tshiombo, that one day I play for Kaizer Chiefs and I never had any doubt that it was going to happen this season. I sat down with Bloemfontein Celtic and made my intentions clear about joining a Club of my choice, Kaizer Chiefs.

I would like to take this opportunity to first thank the Management at Bloemfontein Celtic and the fans in the manner they accepted me and supported me during my stay at the Club. I am also grateful for the contribution they have made in me as a player.

What were the reasons behind choosing Chiefs as a destination?

I love Kaizer Chiefs and I wanted to come here to continue with my career. I am happy in the manner in which the Club is run, also some of my teammates in the national squad, Shabba (Siphiwe Tshabalala) and Itu (Itumeleng Khune) told me about how professionally the Club is ran.

At home they support Kaizer Chiefs, but my father told me that he will support me wherever I play and whatever decision I make. They are all delighted that I have chosen Chiefs.

Against Gabon you had an opportunity to play alongside your Club teammates, Siboniso Gaxa, Morgan Gould and Itumeleng Khune…

It was important for us to win the game after what happened against Ethiopia and Botswana and I thought that we did well in defence. I am looking forward to play with the same guys at Club level and continue to learn from them and develop my game. I know better than anyone that I have to push even harder than I have done in all my life. It will not be easy but nothing is impossible.

What message do you have for the fans?

I just want the fans to know that I am honoured to have joined such a big Club and I will demonstrate the rest on the pitch.
