Arguable the best defensive midfielder in the Absa Premiership, Tinashe Nengomasha remains one of the key players in Vladimir Vermezovic squad.

He spoke to Amakhosi magazine recently about making his 300th appearance for the Club.

The legend that is Tinashe Nengomasha, how does it feel to have played over 300 games in the Gold and Black of Kaizer Chiefs?

It feels awesome, but not all because of me. First, I have to thank the man above, the Almighty Lord, and all my teammates who have been with me.

Also thanks to all my former coaches and current coaches who have given me the opportunity because without them I could not have reached such a milestone.

What does this feat mean to you?

Personally, it is something awesome. It has not just been over 300 games, it has been 300 games of winning things, winning silverware each year and I feel blessed to have achieved that. Because at the end of the day when I finish my career I don’t want to be remembered, I want to be remembered and appreciated.

When you ran on against Bidvest Wits on the 24th August 2011, did you know it was your 300th game, what was going through your mind?

No I didn’t know (laughs), maybe it’s better because I wasn’t thinking about it at all. I just did my normal work.

You have seen a lot in your time at Chiefs, off the bat, what is the most memorable thing in your time here at our beloved Amakhosi?

Everything which has happened to me has been memorable; new teammates, old teammates, I think I have played with the best of the best, winning trophies, winning the league (twice), being involved with the Club for many years.

I think everything has just been awesome. When I sit at home all these things pop back into my head, so I think everything has been memorable.
