“We always look for maximum points,” says Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane ahead of the away clash against Orlando Pirates on Saturday afternoon. “That’s the way to win a league title.” The Soweto Derby will be played at the FNB Stadium (kick-off at 3:30pm).

The Amakhosi play the Buccaneers on the back of a 3-0 win against Bidvest Wits on Wednesday evening. “That was a good result,” he reflects. “We take each game as it comes. That means that we first focussed on the Wits clash. Now we concentrate on the next match and that is the Derby.”

Letsholonyane was recently being recognised at the SA Sports Awards function for earning his 50th international cap.

He has been in terrific form this season for Chiefs. “I always give credit to my teammates,” the modest Letsholonyane reacts. “Without them, I would not be able to play like I am at the moment. They help me be the player I am.”

“That’s also the way we work at Chiefs. The coach plays a big role in that, always stressing the importance of the team. We depend on each other, with each player depending on the team.”
