"It's been a roller coaster season for us," admits Bernard Parker after accepting his Absa Premiership Goal of the Month Award. "I am grateful that I scored in the game that we won."
Parker's' goal came out tops in the voting for the goal of the month of May. His goal came in the 51st minute of the 2-1 win over Ajax Cape Town. The match was played on 12 May at Cape Town Stadium.
"It was indeed a great goal," says Parker. "But mostly for me, contributing to the team’s success is the most important thing. I'm thankful to my teammates and the opportunity afforded by the Kaizer Chiefs family."
"We could have tussled for the league title if we had been more consistent," concludes Parker. "We have learned our lessons and should do better in the next season."
Parker walked away with a R5000 cheque and trophy for his efforts. The ceremony was held on Monday morning at the PSL headquarters.
