Bernard Parker has revealed that he and everyone in the squad are fully focused on the next game against Black Leopards at Peter Mokaba this coming Sunday, 16 October 2011.

‘Bernito’ as Parker is known in football circles together with his Bafana Bafana teammates joined the rest of the team for training on Tuesday following their involvement in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers over the weekend.

“That is not in our hands now. SAFA has advised us to wait for the outcome as they intend to lodge an appeal against CAF. Our focus now is back on the Absa Premiership starting with the away game against Black Leopards,” said Parker speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Wednesday afternoon.

“It is important for us to go back to our winning ways. The past few results have not gone our way but now we have put that behind us - starting with the victory against Bloemfontein Celtic in the Macufe Cup.

Parker also revealed that the Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic has had a word with the team, “The Coach has brought spirit back into the team. He addressed us, in particular the senior players, about taking responsibility.

The Coach rightfully expects us as Bafana Bafana and Zimbabwean internationals to lead from the front and take more responsibility. As players we accept this, and together with the Technical Team we united behind one goal to bring the Absa Premiership to Naturena this season.

The Glamour Boys are visitors at Peter Mokaba Stadium this weekend - a ground they also use as an alternative home ground, “It is not going to be much of a difference for us as the fans will always come in numbers whether we are home or away. The most important thing is for us to do our job on the field.

I have not seen much of Black Leopards but I remember coming up against them in the then Mvela League (then First Division) about five years ago and a lot has changed since then,” added Parker.
