Absa Premiership

Kaizer Chiefs v Bloemfontein Celtic

Tuesday, 19 August 2014

FNB Stadium

Kickoff 19:30

Erick 'Tower' Mathoho said he always looks forward to a game against his former team, Bloemfontein Celtic.

"It's always a pleasure to walk on the pitch to face your former team," said the towering lanky defender ahead of the mouth-watering Absa Premiership match against his former team.

The 24-year-old centre back said, "I feel ok with the way the team is taking off. The fact that I played for Celtic is past and remains in my history. My focus now is to do business for Chiefs and nobody else," said a fired up Mathoho.

Any advantage for playing against a former team?

"Yeah, a bit of advantage cause even if they changed players and ownership, they remain Celtic and probably they still maintain their culture. It's good to know a little bit about your opponents," commented the ever modest and man of a few words, Mathoho.

Mathoho called on all the Amakhosi to do what they do always, coming in their numbers to support the team at the stadium. He said, "We are playing well as a unit. It's our home game, the first in the league this season. The games against Celtic always draw interest from all the soccer loving fraternity. They have enthusiastic support and recently earned draws against good sides in Aces and Pirates.

Our supporters must do the usual thing, fill up the stadium," the Venda-born, Bafana Bafana international was talking before his team training session on Sunday morning.

The Supporters Club and KC Retail Store will be operating at gate K, turnstile 18 on match day. You will be able to get and Rica your KC Mobile Starter Pack and get the Champion Jersey when you buy your most stylish and adored new Chiefs home and away kit.

Gates open at 16:30. Tickets are sold at Computicket outlets countrywide at R40 and R10 for adults and juveniles respectively.
