Traveling South African journalist, Velile “Macarina” Mbuli, revealed to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday afternoon.
The U17 played their first game in Argentina last Sunday against Argentinos Juniors who have produced some of the world’s best players such as Diego Maradona, Juan Roman Riquelme, Fernando Redondo and many others. Despite giving their best, the ‘Amajimbos’ as the U17 is affectionately known lost 1-0.
“There is no doubt that the future is bright for these youngsters,” said Velile speaking from Argentina.
“They gave their best against a very good side that has produced some of the best players in the world. Defensively they were sound and they kept South Africans at bay. There is no doubt that the young captain, Ntshangane won many fans with his display on the day. He was superb playing as the right back.
His technique and timing of his runs troubled the Argentineans. Nkululeko as the captain also commands respect from his peers and has a bright future ahead of him,” said the normally hard to please journalist.
The likes of striker, Thabani Mthembu and Maselaelo affectionately known as ‘Shakes’ also gave a good account of themselves.
South Africa will on Friday come up against their Argentinean counterparts in what promises to be a thrilling encounter between the two sides.
