Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune has insisted that the pressure is on Brazil, as the two sides take on each other in the second semi final of Confederations Cup tonight (Thursday) at Coca Cola Park.

The winner tonight will take on USA who shocked European champions, Spain in Bloemfontein on Wednesday night beating them by 2-0.

The hosts are meeting the five time world champions for the third time with Brazil winning both encounters back in 2006 and 2007 respectively.

However, Brazil came second best to South Africa’s U-23 squad back in 2000 in the Sydney Olympics as on fire Amaglug-glug gave them a 3-1 drubbing.

Brazil is yet to lose in this tournament and are in a scoring mood with striker Louis Fabiano and Robinho on form in front of goals. Meanwhile Bafana Bafana are coming from a 2-0 defeat in the hands of Spain last Saturday but goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune is confident ahead of the fixture tonight.

“The pressure is on Brazil not us,” said Khune who celebrated his birthday last week.

“We were not as bad as people think against Spain and I think we did well to contain them for the first 45 minutes. The game against Brazil will be tough but we are ready for them. The spirit in the camp is very high ahead of this game and we are all excited to be playing in the semi finals of this competition and playing against football power house, Brazil,”

“The fans have been very supportive since our opening game against Iraq and we urge to continue supporting us. In football as it happened last night everything is possible but we really have to be on top of our game to match Brazil,” added Khune.

The game will kick off at 20h30.
