Game: Golden Arrows vs Kaizer Chiefs
Date: 23rd February 2003
Venue: Kings Park Soccer Stadium, Durban
Kick-off: 15H30
Kaizer Chiefs will have it all to do when they travel to Durban this weekend for a Castle Premiership clash against Golden Arrows.
The match will be played at the Kings Park Soccer Stadium and is likely to draw a capacity crowd on Sunday.
Arrows have won two of their last three matches, and when these two sides met in Rustenburg a few months ago, it was a late goal by Jason Lakay that stunned Chiefs.
Lakay will most likely play a major role on Sunday, and Chief coach Doctor Khumalo is expecting a tough battle.
Khumalo believes that Arrows are a tight knit unit whose players know each other well as they have been playing together for a while now.
"They are probably the best short passing team in the country, and they knock the ball about with confidence," he said. "They attack in numbers and defend as a team."
Clearly the Chiefs coach is a worried man going into this match, especially since his side was not too convincing when they beat Santos on the weekend.
Chiefs needed a late goal from John Shoes Moshoeu to collect all three points.
One man that will likely have to keep the Arrows front runners at bay is Malawian international, Patrick Mabedi, who has been in great form for Chiefs this season.
Mabedi has been a rock, and when he plays, Chiefs hardly ever lose. He missed a few months of the season due to a broken leg, but has fully recovered now.
However, Arrows will be without star striker Mabudi Khanyeza, who will be playing for the national under-23 squad against Angola this weekend.
But no matter who wins on Sunday, football fans will be in for one great match, with sponsors Castle also adding value with a great line-up of entertainment.
