This will be just the fourth time these arch-rivals have met in the final of the MTN8 competition, with Orlando Pirates currently winning the head-to-head clashes 2-1.
The current overall head-to-head stats will however read 2-2 due to the fact that the 1974 final was played over two legs, both won by Chiefs.
Coach Baxter sounded highly inspired ahead of the game albeit cautiously optimistic.
His general views looking ahead of the sold out match?
"Whoever manages the day the best and whoever gives a good performance will win the game. With everything at stake, the performance will win the game after all. We will have to not think about winning the game but play to the best of our ability. We must avoid the anxiety."
The form book:
"Form book goes out of the window in this one. Both teams go into the game with recent good results but that won't count on Saturday."
How much do Chiefs need it?
"People always make a mistake to suggest that those that lose the games do so because they didn't need it the most. Sometimes you lose the game because you needed it the most and ended up making mistakes."
The meaning of the results on Saturday?
"Whoever wins will gain momentum going into other competitions. We will give a good performance."
The match background:
Kaizer Chiefs have appeared in 19 top eight finals and won 14 of those (74%). Pirates have appeared in 14 top eight finals and won nine (64%).
