Kaizer Chiefs v Maritzburg United

Saturday, 27 September 2014

FNB Stadium

"The lads look all lively at training," says Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter watching over his troops putting finishing touches to their preparations for the big match against the visiting Maritzburg United.

Any hangover from the MTN 8 victory?

"Not at all. We are looking forward to Saturday. On the field there'll be two teams. United will come here looking to upset us. But they know we would like to make FNB a difficult place for every team coming here. It must be a fortress. If we allow a lose here the opponents will enjoy coming here."

The players?

"Everyone except for Khune and Mphela are fit. The duo will return soon to resume with light training."

What keeps this team so inspired?

"We are professionals. We have unfinished business. We are chased all the time. And we want to establish ourselves at the top of the log."

Maritzburg United as opponents?

"Records speak for them. They are not a toothless side. You allow them to bite, they can bite hard. We are aware of their league standing at the moment. They are in there with the chasing pack."

As they stand on the log:

Both teams have played six games Kaizer Chiefs has won all their games. Chiefs conceded two and have scored ten goals. Maritzburg United have won three, drawn two and lost one. They have scored seven and conceded four.

Kickoff is at 20:15.
