"Any game we play is important. We deem this game as important as any other game in our programme," says Kaizer Chiefs mentor, Stuart Baxter. Baxter was talking after taking his team through the final practice session ahead of the Sparta Macufe Cup taking place as part of the annual Macufe on Sunday.

Baxter reveals, "We are looking at the whole of the programme. We have Multichoice Diski Challenge also going this weekend. These games will help us to collect as much information as possible about the players. Both development players and the senior team gain game time in this process."

Kaizer Chiefs reserves are playing in the MDC games against Bloemfontein Celtic and Moroka Swallows on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Baxter continues, "To be honest, we have to prioritise and our aim is to develop the young players and get information about all our players. The players will use this opportunity to show they are ready when called upon."

The players' availability, Baxter says, "Levy Mokgothu, Lorenzo Gordinho, Siphelele Mthembu and Ovidy Karuru will get some game time tomorrow. Mathoho, Mashamaite, Letsholonyane and Masango are away with the national team. Khune and Mphela are recovering from an assortment of injuries."

Baxter emphasised the importance of representing the Club well every time the team takes to the field.

It remains to be seen who will be the winner on Sunday when the two teams leave the field. Celtic won last years' version with an odd goal.
