Absa PREMIERSHIP 2014/15 Season

Bidvest Wits v Kaizer Chiefs

Bidvest Stadium

Wednesday, 03 December 2014

19h30 kick-off

"Every game is history," Kaizer Chiefs Coach Stuart Baxter said after taking his charges through the final preparation for tomorrow night.

Kaizer Chiefs will look at continuing with their unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership when they visit Bidvest Wits at Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday, 03 December 2014, kick-off at 19h30.

Baxter continues, "Playing against Wits is always a difficult game, especially in their backyard. They are robust and play with a high tempo. We will be faced with a challenge both mentally and physically. We have to be a threat to them to break their momentum."

Chiefs have yet to taste defeat this season, but have played with three draws in their last four league matches.

"We should have won the game against Polokwane City. But that's history now, we are looking forward to the game tomorrow night,” recalls Baxter.

Wits have claimed 13 points from six home matches this season. They won 2-1 against Black Aces in their last outing.

"They are doing well and Gavin Hunt is a good coach. He will be in the same situation as well, thinking and plotting to overcome our good run," noted Baxter.

Kaizer Chiefs have claimed 16 points from their six away matches this season. Last season the Amakhosi took four points off the Clever Boys, winning 2-1 at home before drawing 0-0 away.

The Amakhosi are placed first on the Absa Premiership log with 30 points from 12 matches while their host The Clever Boys are placed third on the Absa Premiership log with 20 points from 12 matches.

"It has and will continue to be a tight game as always. They bring their A-game when they play with us, and we have to be prepared to take the game to them," adds Baxter.

In head-to-head stats, Wits and Chiefs have met in 56 league matches since 1985. The Amakhosi have 27 wins compared to 10 for the Clever Boys, while 19 matches have been drawn. Wits have won just two of the 29 home matches against Chiefs down the years, suffering 16 defeats in the process.

Mthembu and Moleko are ruled out due to injury.

The game has been sold out.
