This announcement was made by the PSL CEO, Kjetil Siem amidst huge excitement and interest from the clubs in attendance.
The League purchased tickets as well as receiving allocations from SAFA and the LOC.
“I can confirm that all of our 32 clubs will get allocations of tickets to attend the opening ceremony and opening match, Italy vs Brazil as well as the final,” said Siem.
“There will also be allocations to clubs for other matches.”
The issue of the National First Division was also on the agenda at the BOG.
There will still be two streams for the 2009/2010 season and the situation will be reviewed again next year.
The Coastal Stream will comprise of the following teams: FC Cape Town, Thanda Royal Zulu, Carara Kicks, Vasco Da Gama, Hanover Park FC, Ikapa Sporting, Nathi Lions and Bay United.
The Inland Stream will comprise of the following teams: Pretoria University, Batau FC, African Warriors, United FC, Winners Park, Witbank Spurs, Black Leopards and Dynamos.
The BOG also approved the compliance manual that will now be fully implemented in the PSL and National First Division.
It was also decided that electronic substitution boards will be used for all matches from next season.
For the first time in the history of the League, the draw for the Absa Premiership and the National First Division league fixtures was done with the participation of all 32 clubs.
Following this procedure, the clubs also received the draft of the fixtures and will need to come with input before the League confirms and makes the announcement for the 2009/2010 fixtures at the end of this month.
