This follows an incident that occurred in the Absa Premiership match between Kaizer Chiefs and MP Black Aces on February 24, where Vermezovic stormed onto the field of play in an aggressive and menacing manner, charging towards the referee, with the result that he had to be restrained by the Chiefs players.
Vermezovic was found guilty and fined R50 000, wholly suspended for 12 months. He was also handed a one-match ban and ordered to pay the cost of the sitting, amounting to approximately R21 000.
The sanction will be effective seven days from the date of judgment, subject to his appeal.
