The Kaizer Chiefs players have been promised R1 million should they win the Super Cup against Al Ahly of Egypt by a three-goal margin. The money would be shared equally among the players.

Chiefs managing director Kaizer Motaung announced today from Cairo that he would offer the incentive to be split amongst the players responsible for getting the team to the Super Cup.

"Since both the Mandela Cup and the Super Cup have no prize money, we took it upon ourselves to incentivise the players," said the Chiefs boss.

Whilst Chiefs might be experiencing a mediocre league campaign, the Glamour Boys have always excelled in cup competitions. They kicked off their Mandela Cup defence with a comprehensive 4-0 win against US Transfoot of Madagascar on Saturday.

The game on Friday will be their fifth Cup Final they have featured in this season. The match will be watched across the entire African continent on SuperSport 3 from 19:30 while SABC 2 viewers will have a late broadcast at 22:00.
