Radebe joined Chiefs at the start of the 2002 – 2003 season from Free State Stars and made his debut for Chiefs on the 11th September 2002. During his five seasons as a Chiefs player Radebe made a total of 134 appearances for Chiefs in all competition and contributed by scoring 35 goals.

Radebe now becomes the second Chiefs player on the transfer list to have found a new home. His move follows on the heels of Siphiwe Mkhonza’s transfer from Chiefs to SuperSport a move which was confirmed late last week.

Amakhosi team manager Bobby Motaung who was party to the negotiations that saw Radebe leave Chiefs to join Wits on a two year contract, said on Monday “we do not want to hold the guys who are on the transfer list back in any way and will endeavor to ensure that they find clubs as fast as possible. With regards to David joining Wits it is a good move for him as I am sure he will get to play regularly there and all the best to him at his new team”.

Motaung also confirmed to Kaizerchiefs.com on Monday that defender Patrick Mayo who had also been informed around two weeks ago that he was being put on the transfer list, has been handed a clearance by Chiefs and the 34-year-old defender is free to join any club of his choice.

The final bit of transfer news involves midfielder Gert Schalkwyk. The 25-year-old who has turned out 49 times for Chiefs in the past three seasons, was given permission a few days ago to begin training with Platinum Stars.

Chiefs are yet to receive a final offer from Stars for Schalkwyk.
