After successful negotiations, Kaizer Chiefs is pleased to announce the contract extensions of two fullbacks Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Kgotso Moleko.
The duo has signed on the dotted lines and will stay at Amakhosi for two more years running from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2021.
Moleko joined Chiefs in 2012 from Bloemfontein Celtic and was part of the glory years when the Glamour Boys collected two league titles and cup competitions in 2013 and 2015.
“This is great news for me and my family,” says Moleko. “There was a time when I was frustrated but family and other senior players in the team kept me going. It’s about putting in hard work and following the coach’s advice and instructions. I’m grateful to continue to serve the club that I love so much.”
Coach Middendorp responded to the news by saying; “Moleko is on a great turnaround. He did not feature much in the early part of the season. I am happy because of his capacity to give us options. He is not only a player to use on the right position, but he is capable of playing in the centre of our defence.”
Mphahlele joined Amakhosi from Mamelodi Sundowns in June 2016.
“I’m happy that I extended the contract to remain at this great club,” says an elated Mphahlele, “it is now for me to repay the club by winning trophies. It is also a great time to renew the contract seeing that the club is going in the right direction”
“It is absolute pleasure to have these contracts extension so we can focus on delivering on the field,” concludes Middendorp. “Rama is a leading light in the team. With his experience, age and influence he has a lot to offer in the team.”
