Ramabu and his Chiefs teammate Lucky Baloyi started Amajita’s opening game of the tournament on Sunday as they lost 4-2 to their Mali U-20 counterparts at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.
“There is no option but to win, it might used a number of times, the Lesotho game is a must win clash for us” explained the 18 year old of Wednesday afternoons game against the Mountain Boys.
Amajita have played Lesotho previously and were originally eliminated in the qualifying stages by their regional rivals, before South Africa were handed hosting rights after the competition was taken away from Libya.
“We not thinking about revenge, those qualifiers are now over we have a second chance and we need to win this came at all costs, it is not a revenge mission just a mission to get three points” divulged Ramabu.
Who then went on to say, “we do have a few things in our favour we faster than they are and we need to use our pace to good effect, they have very big defenders who make their presence felt at the back.
We will come up with a plan to counter them, we know what we did not do correctly against them in the past and we will not let that happen again.”
Ramabu was substituted before half time in the game against the Malians, on a personal level he is looking to be more creative and imposing on proceedings against Lesotho.
“This is a big tournament and I think I played in my shell early on in the opening game, personally I am disappointed with my performance against Mali.
I do believe that I can give more for the team and I am determined to do just that, my hope is to play against Lesotho so that I can make amends for the disappointment of the opening game.”
In the other game in Group A on Sunday Lesotho went down 2-0 to Egypt, on Wednesday Egypt will face Mali while South Africa takes on Lesotho.
