“The break was a time for the players to relax a bit and to refresh,” says Kaizer Chiefs defender Siboniso ‘Pa’ Gaxa ahead of the crunch game against Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon, 22 November (kick-off at 15:30). “We are looking forward to the match.”
The Amakhosi defender played for the Brazilians between 2008 and 2010. “They have a good coach,” Gaxa stresses about Sundowns mentor Pitso Mosimane with whom he worked during his time at SuperSport United.
“I had a good time at the club,” the defender adds. “However, I am a professional. I am now a Khosi. Everything I do now on the field is for Kaizer Chiefs.”
The Brazilians are at present in fifth position on the Absa Premiership log, 12 points behind Chiefs who are on top. Sundowns have scored ten goals in the ten league games played so far, while they have conceded six times. The Amakhosi have netted 15 times and only conceded four goals.
“During the break,” concludes Gaxa. “We worked on a few things at training. Let’s hope that we will be able to take this to Saturday’s match. Sundowns are the reigning champions. I can’t wait for the game to start.”
The tickets for the match are sold at the Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide. The cost per ticket is R40 and R10 for adults and children respectively. Parking tickets can also be bought at Computicket at R20.
