Frosler returned from national duty that saw Bafana Bafana claim the Cosafa Cup plate final crown after beating Malawi on penalties at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday, 7 June.
The Amakhosi defender played for 70 minutes in Bafana Bafana’s loss to finalists Botswana and played the full 90+30 minutes in the plate final match. “We played according to plan, but did not convert our chances,” adds Frosler. “I’m happy with the experience gained in the tournament.”
The 21-year-old was earlier selected but missed the cut in the provisional U-23 squad which beat Angola in the Olympic qualifiers, “I missed out on the camp against Angola,” he recalls. “It was hard to accept, but I’m professional enough and the reasons were clear. Remember I did not have much game time prior to the camp. I’m happy that despite that, I was in the radar of the selectors. That’s encouraging for any player and I’m grateful.”
The Port Elizabeth born player became a Glamour Boy during the January window period and has so far got the nod in the full back role. “Being at Kaizer Chiefs is a big adjustment, but over time I have settled well and getting to adapt in the setup,” he says.
In closing, Frosler has wished the best of luck to all the national teams taking part in different international competitions, “I would like to wish Banyana Banyana all the best in the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Banyana must use this world stage to express themselves and show the rest of the world how talented South Africans are,” he says.
And to Bafana Bafana going to Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt he says: “I wish the lads all of the best. Let’s go out there and do our best. Let the South African flag fly at the highest level.”
Reeve will take a few days off to rest before returning to the Chiefs Village to begin with the pre-season. “I look forward to spending some time resting back home in Port Elizabeth. But mostly, I can’t wait to return to action. There’s a big challenge ahead of us in the new season. We have to make amends, do better and make our supporters happy,” he concluded.
