“The greatest moment over and above the first game of the African World Cup was Tshabalala’s goal. It made history. It was the first game and the first goal. The atmosphere was overwhelming and unbelievable!” – Executive Chairman Kaizer Motaung
Current Bafana Bafana Coach – Pitso Mosimane:
Question
How did you feel when a boy you have recruited to the National team while he was still in the 1st Division scored the 1st goal of the World Cup?
“It was an emotional moment. When you believe in someone and it works out, It’s humbling, a goal that made history and was watched by billions of people across the world. It’s also pleasing when a boy from my area(Soweto) takes the opportunity given to him with both hands, Shabba is a role model to the community of Mapetla and I’m happy for him. He is a humble boy with no ‘off the field’ controversies. I pray for more players like him. ‘Shabba’ has become a National symbol recognised all over the world" - Pitso Mosimane
