Report on the Team Photo Day

Posted in News on Nov 03, 2011.

Thursday was a fun filled day at the Club’s HQ in Naturena as the entire team, Technical Staff, and the Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung lined up for the seasonal team photo.

Directed by the Executive Chairman himself and organized by Brand Manager, Dara Carroll the team picture is a great opportunity for the entire Kaizer Chiefs family.

Players like Gerald Sibeko, who has been at the Club longer than any other player in the squad, Tinashe Nengomasha, Kaizer Motaung JNR are quite familiar with the tradition.

There were some ‘nerves’ for the new guys like Brent Lawler & Keegan Ritchie, but Itumeleng Khune who lined up for his first team photo as a 17 year old, kept everyone in stitches with his jokes. There is never a dull moment when the Ventersdorp born Itu is around.

Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic also ensured that the atmosphere was a relaxed one with his occasional jokes. He was congratulated by Football Manager, Bobby Motaung on his suit. “You looked good Coachie…” said Motaung who was at his dashing best. VV wearing a black suit, Club tie and black shoes with pink laces looked really smart so was the Executive Chairman who also showed the young ones a thing or two by displaying some nifty skills with the ball. It was clear that he has not lost his touch!

Following the announcement of Itumeleng Khune as a captain, there had to be changes as where he was going to stand, as previously he was always in the back row but now he took his seat next to the Coach on the Front row.

“It takes a lot to put this day together and this season we had to postpone it about four times because of bad weather and injuries to some of our players. I am delighted that everyone is here today,” said Brand Manager, Dara Carroll. “I always encourage everyone to smile during the photo shoot because the players will one day show their grandchildren the team photograph saying, “I was once at Kaizer Chiefs”. They must look fabulous.

The Executive Chairman who in the 41 year history of the Club has seen the Team Photo Day going through many phases, “The objective of doing team photos is to preserve our history. We have team photos dating back from Kaizer X1. First we used to take these in the stadium with fans in the background, training grounds and later to empty stadiums and now here at the Village.

The fans will have opportunity to see the day unfolding on KCTV later on this month.
