Reserve league set for early finish

Posted in News on May 14, 2007.

The pilot season of the Premier Soccer Reserve League seems set for an earlier than expected finish this after the co-ordinator of the reserve league Mr. Dan Leboa in consultation with the clubs opted to reschedule the final round of fixtures, which were originally scheduled to take place on the 28th of May, to Thursday the 17th May meaning that teams will play their final fixtures on either the 21st or 23rd May.

The change now means that The Amakhosi reserve team, who were scheduled to face Moroka Swallows in their final match on the 28th May, will now square up to the birds in Germiston on Thursday afternoon instead, which means that The Amakhosi who despite a 3-0 loss a week ago to Orlando Pirates are still in contention to win the inaugural reserve league, will conclude their season against Jomo Cosmos Reserves on Monday 21st May.

With the Premier Soccer League rounding off this coming weekend most teams were planning allow their players to begin their off season at the start of next week, with the final reserve fixtures originally scheduled for the 28th May. Many teams were not happy with having to keep back a number of their playing and technical staff in order to fulfill the remaining fixtures, the new changes have been welcomed by the teams participating in the reserve league as most of the teams will now be able to allow their players to begin their holidays on the 22nd May.
