Defending DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) champions suffered the first defeat in the defence of their title after going down 1-0 to TS Galaxy at the Solomon Mahlangu stadium in Mpumalanga on Sunday.
After winning their opening two matches, this upset sees them slip down to fourth place in the league table, remaining on six points, just one point off the summit of the standings.
Their opponents in the next round of matches on Sunday, 28 September, will be AmaZulu, at Wits Sturrock Park, kicking off at 10:00am. The match is not open to public spectators.
Also on Sunday, the Club’s youth development teams experienced a mixture of fortunes in their SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL) encounters against Panorama FC at the Panorama Sports Ground.
The U14s were held to a 2-2 draw by their counterparts before the U15s completely outclassed their opponents by 6-0, only for the Amakhosi U17s to go down 2-1 in the following game. Over at the Sicelo stadium in Midvaal, Kaizer Chiefs U19s comprehensively defeated Panorama 4-0, as part of the GDL U19 festival that took place over the weekend.
The GDL returns to the Village this coming Saturday, 27 September, when Amakhosi host Kathorus Hyper Academy, with the U14s getting the programme under way with a 9:00am kick off.
