Kaizer Chiefs reserves remain in striking distance of top spot in the 2024/25 DStv Diski Challenge, the country’s national U23 league, after beating Sekhukhune United 2-0 at the Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark on Sunday.

Goals from Neo Bohloko and Naledi Hlongwane, who was recently promoted to the senior squad, gave substance to another dominant display to keep Amakhosi two points behind the leaders, albeit with a game in hand. That postponed game is meant to be against Royal AM, and they will have another bye this coming weekend when the return fixture against Royal AM was scheduled. With the fate of the KwaZulu-Natal based club yet to be finalised, any details regarding these fixtures are undetermined at this point in time.

In the meantime, the league carries on and Chiefs’ next hurdle comes in the form of a visit from Marumo Gallants a fortnight from now, on Saturday, 8 March.

In the SAFA Gauteng Development League, the GDL Top 8 semifinals and finals scheduled to take place at Marks Park over the weekend were postponed owing to persistent inclement weather conditions.

The semifinals will now take place on Saturday, 29 March, with the finals being contested the following day, both at the same venue, Marks Park.

Amakhosi U14s will face Sevens Academy on Field B at 9:00am for a place in the final, with the U15s meeting Tuks on the same field at 10:30am.

At 1:30pm, the U19s come up against the School of Excellence in their semifinal on Field A.
