Defending DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) champions, Kaizer Chiefs continued their rampaging start to 2026 with an emphatic 2-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns in a festival match at KaNyamazane stadium in Mpumaplanga province on Sunday.

Goals from Naledi Hlongwane and Neo Bohloko saw Amakhosi to victory in a consummate performance. This comes off the back of a 4-0 walloping of Durban City last weekend in another festival encounter at Mpumalanga stadium, Hammarsdale, KwaZulu-Natal in which Imaad Hendriks and Bohloko scored twice each.

After a patchy start to their title defence, Chiefs hit a rich vein of form towards the end of last year and, following their memorable tour to the United Kingdom in November/December, the victory over Sundowns marks their fifth in a row, to elevate them to fifth place in the table on 26 points from 14 games with a game in hand.

Their next assignment is an away fixture against Marumo Gallants on Sunday, 25 January, where they will be going for a sixth win on the trot.
