Kaizer Chiefs Reserves ended a run of drawn matches with a resounding 3-0 victory over Polokwane City Reserves in their DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) encounter at Dobsonville stadium on Sunday morning.
Goals from Steven Mendes, Sfiso Timba and Kamogelo Malefo underlined a dominant performance that secured three valuable points to elevate Amakhosi from twelfth to seventh place in the national U23 league standings.
The result is a welcome return to form for the defending champions, who had slipped down the league table after drawing their previous four fixtures leading into this game. They now sit on 14 points from 10 rounds and will go into next weekend’s DDC Festival match against perennial rivals and league leaders, Orlando Pirates, brimming with confidence when they meet at the Solomon Mahlangu stadium in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga on Sunday, 16 November.
The mouthwatering prospect kicks off at 15:00, and will be broadcast live on SuperSport
