Baxter looked at the game aftermath, he said,

"We had a difficult game against Aces last season. We knew we were going to have our hands full. We started well, got off the blogs quickly as planned. The first twenty minutes was a decider. I was pleased with the performance and pleased for going through and not getting carried away, it's still early in the season."

Winning without the top name players?

"Opening the game without Shabba and Parker and Knowledge - you have to juggle things around. I'm just pleased and it doesn't reflect any bad of Aces. I will not be excited about changes, I just want to see the other players to come back knowing they have competition. Aces will be a tough proposition going forward."

Mandla scored a brace after he was nearly loaned out during preseason?

"Mandla is a good player. He needs to play forward more. Today Mandla was turned around most of the time. Mandla was very close to be loaned out. He knew that and I spoke to him before the game and he responded well, he can now smile looking to the next opportunity."

When will Shabba return to fitness?

"Shabba may be fit in the next week. He is a top class player. Like all other players he will have to get himself fit again and raise his hand again for selection."

Good game?

"One beautiful day doesn't make a good summer. The lads did a good job today but I will not be carried away at this stage. I'm happy with the way the lads responded, it was professional."

Playing at home and the impact of travelling?

"Last season, in fifteen weeks we had two proper training sessions. Home games here means slightly an easy job as the players want to be in the pitch than on the road."

Nkhatha scored a brilliant goal?

"The supporters booed Nkhatha last season but he continued to play his heart out. I said to Nkhatha that fear and anxiety is a choice. He just arrives at work, puts his gear on and goes on with business. He is a true professional."

Any mandate set for the Team by the Club?

"If you are a club with ambition like Chiefs you enter each game with the aim to win. You don't have to write it down, that's the way it is. At Chiefs people expect us to win every competition we play."

The Glamour boys will go into the semifinal draw hat on Monday with the other semifinalists Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits and the reigning champions Platinum Stars.
