AmaZulu (1) 1 (Ndulula 22’)

Kaizer Chiefs (0) 2 (Lebese 60’ + 94’)

A sign of bravery and a display of persistency was demonstrated by the Amakhosi when they beat a stubborn AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday night.

Kaizer Chiefs Coach, Stuart Baxter responded to the triumph graciously, he elaborated,

"The points that you grind win championships," alludes Baxter.

He further said, "The ones that you get easy are a give away. These are the kind of points that could win you the tittle."

He hailed AmaZulu for their gallant fight on the night," AmaZulu aren't a bad team. They were working hard . In the second half we took the game into our hands. In any set play chances are that we will score."

Baxter expressed concerns though, "We are not doing what we are good at. We were not brave enough in the first half and our movement was not good."

About his team's lack of goal power,"We didn't have space that's why we over elaborated on the ball. Lebese's first goal was a good example of opening up the game. Lebese was not himself in the first twenty minutes but he kept working hard."

Baxter shares news about Mandla Masango' injury "Masango had an injection during halftime as he felt pain in the back, he should be ready in no time."

About the goals coming from the midfield, he says, "I get worried when we don't create chances. We are monitoring the situation but not worried at this stage."

Baxter looked ahead of players going for national team duty and will return 48 hours before the Mamelodi Sundowns game which is a challenge, but he will work around that. Baxter congratulated five of his charges for being selected in the Bafana Bafana squad.
