Kaizer Chiefs (0) 1 (Masango 79)

Bloemfontein Celtic 0

We recorded our third consecutive win in the ABSA Premiership league game, shrugging off Bloemfontein Celtic at FNB Stadium. Masango continued in his scoring mood, converting clinically in the 79th when it looked like we were heading for a drawn game.

Baxter agreed with many, that the game was not what the 'Doctor ordered', labeling it a scrappy affair. At the end of it Baxter and the Amakhosi will be happy with a win.

Baxter elaborated at the Postmatch Press Conference, he said:

Summary of the proceedings:

“The first 15, 20 minutes of the game were painful. We knew what they were going to do – I read the script and we prepared for exactly what they came with, and yet we did not bring our A-game," said Baxter.

“We weren’t brave enough on the ball, to work under pressure. We should have scored after 30min of play and I thought we would pick up, but then the rest of the half was sporadic," he lamented.

The Glamour Boys emerged from the dressing room with more determination going into the second half.

“In the second half we stepped it up, we were braver, we took a few chances by throwing people forward and leaving two [defenders] with a front sweeper, and I thought we had better play and better intensions. It wasn’t one of our more fluent performances, but you have to win those ones as well. So I was pleased with the attitude in the second half, but we can play a lot better," Baxter reflected.

Masango's fourth of the season:

“We put together a very good attack and Mandla finished it like a dream. When that went in I was very, very pleased," concluded Baxter.
