Matthew Rusike vowed to work harder after scoring his first goal for the Club against AmaZulu on Tuesday evening.

Rusike who was handed his second start of the season by Coach, Stuart Baxter opened the scoring in the 36th minute of the game.

“It is a good feeling to finally get to score my first goal for the team. It feels good to give the fans something to cheer about and even more important that we won the game.

“I have been working very hard in the past couple of weeks and of course learning from my teammates in terms of anticipation and my movements. I am grateful to the Technical Team for giving me an opportunity to play. I am going to continue to work hard and grab every opportunity that comes my way.

Chiefs no. 21 was given time off by the Club to attend to his father last week and missed the game against the University of Pretoria; “My father (Philip) has been a pillar of strength for me since I started my football in the dusty streets of Zimbabwe."

“He has not been well and I am sure he smiled after I scored the goal. I would like to dedicate the goal to him. I will be spending the Xmas time with him and the rest of the family,” added Rusike.
