“It’s amazing to know that this season’s Kaizer Chiefs jerseys have been selected as the world’s best,” enthuses Amakhosi supporter Selina Lyalenda about the fact that the United Kingdom’s respected FourFourTwo magazine selected both jerseys as the most beautiful in the world. “It means that we are very trendy as a club. I feel so proud wearing our new jerseys.”
Selina was one of the first supporters to purchase the new home jersey and returned this week to the Kaizer Chiefs store at the Village to add the purple away jersey to her collection. “The stripes on the home jersey are very cool,” she comments, “they remind me of the old Rise Khosi Rise jersey.”
About the bold, regal purple away jersey, Selina says, “It’s incredible. It’s so wow! I have never seen anything like that – it’s one of a kind.”
She asked the sales persons in the store to print the number ‘18’ on the back of the jersey with the name ‘Selie’.
Selina has bought 38 jerseys over the years and all her jerseys carry the number ‘18’.
“I have always loved Fani Madida,” she explains the choice of that jersey number. “He was my favourite Amakhosi player and I will forever be true to his number.”
Selina lives in Sunninghill and has her own beauty salon. She usually attends Chiefs’ home games at FNB Stadium and regularly also travels to away matches.
“Chiefs is my life,” Selina concludes.
