Serge spent the time with his parents and siblings and handed out various gifts given to him by the club to friends and family members. Serge also handed over his debut Chiefs jersey that he wore when he made his first appearance for the Amakhosi, which was in the SAA Supa8 ¼ final against Bloemfontein Celtic in August.
Serge got much needed rest and apart from being at home he also proved to be quite popular on the streets of the Ivorian Capital, as he became a popular figure with South African Peace keeping forces based in the Ivory Coast.
Serge took pictures signed autographs and made friends with the soldiers many of who have not been home for quiet some time.
The burly striker also spent time at the IBIS hotel with Amaglug glug who played against their Ivorian Counterparts, Itumeleng Khune was happy to meet his team mate and Serge attended the game with divided loyalties admitting that he felt sympathy for Amaglug glug because of Chiefs players Itumeleng Khune and Stephen Faba.
Coach Ernst Middendorp was happy with the medical report given to him upon Serge’s return commenting “ I expected him to have come back in need of more help but I think he took care of himself and must have done some work with his father because from my diagnosis he looks in fine condition”.
Louis Morgan a member of the Chiefs medical team announced similar sentiments saying “ Serge is looking stronger and far fitter than he was two weeks ago he also seems more motivated since he has returned I am happy with his progress”.
Serge is hoping to be back from his lengthy injury and has penned down the start of January as to the period he would like to get back to full training.
