Siphiwe Tshabalala was rewarded for his performances at the Kaizer Chiefs Village on Thursday when he walked away with the Nissan Juke after being voted for by the supporters as the Player of the Quarter.

The Phiri, Soweto born midfielder dished some scintillating performances towards the end of last season earning him the award for the second time. Marketing Director Jessica Motaung, a representative from Nissan, Amanda Howie and a supporter, Siphamandla Zimema (39) from Johannesburg presented Shabba with the prize.

“We would like to congratulate Siphiwe Tshabalala on winning this award. It shows that when you work hard you get rewarded and this is a result of the work Tshabalala has been putting in training in the past couple of months. He is a good example for everyone to follow,” said Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung paying a tribute to the Club’s no. 14.

Siphamandla Zimema who had an opportunity to give the prize away cherished every moment at the Village; “I have been here a couple of times coming to the shop and I never thought one day I will get an opportunity to present a prize.”

“I was also happy to meet almost all the players. This is going to be our season. Our neighbours have been talking a lot and it is now time that we stop them,” added Zimema.

The gold and black Nissan Juke was not the only prize awaiting the player as he was also presented with a sleek maroon Nissan Juke, a prize he won in May for the Club’s Player of the Season award.

“I feel honoured once more to get this prize for the second time. It is motivation ahead of the season. I would like to thank my teammates for all the support including the Technical Team. I do not have words to express myself, but am grateful to the supporters who voted for me once again.”

“I am still thinking though on how I am going to drive the two cars as I love them both,” added Tshabalala jokingly who had asked his dad to help him with the other car.

Tshabalala will drive the Nissan Juke Player of the Quarter car for the next three months while he will get an opportunity to drive his prize for the Player of the Season for the next twelve months.

Tshabalala is the last player to win the Nissan Juke and a lucky supporter will win the same car in October later this year.

The players, Technical Team and Club officials who had attended the prize ceremony all congratulated Shabba on his awards.
