"Shoes has been training with us for a while now and there is a strong possibility now that we could sign him," said Motaung. "But that is not a question of desperation on our part. Shoes just want to be part of this team and I am sure there will be games where the coach might need an experienced player like Shoes."
"Personally I think Shoes is still a top player. I watched him at training and he can still run, the commitment and dedication is also there. But it will really be up to the coach to decide. The only thing standing in our way is an international clearance. We have applied for that and once it comes through we will take it from there."
Meanwhile, there is still a chance for the veteran midfield genius Doctor Khumalo to make a comeback in the local league. Khumalo, who doubles up as an assistant coach has been registered as a player and it will be up to the coach whether to field him or not.
"Doctor has always been on the playing staff but concentrating more on his technical duties. He has been registered both as a player and assistant coach and I sure when a need arises the coach will use him," Motaung said.
