“Today we continued with the recovery process,” said Giovanni Solinas after landing safely at Durban’s King Shaka International Airport on Thursday afternoon.

Kaizer Chiefs will face Maritzburg United in an Absa Premiership assignment at Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday night, 17 August 2018 (kick-off is at 20:00).

Solinas confirmed, “We will reshuffle things a bit in order to cope with our tight fixture schedule, while Dumsani Zuma is still out with flu.”

The Amakhosi coach also poured cold water on the early league positions of the various PSL sides. “Current form doesn’t give much of an indication at this early stage of the season. All the games are difficult, because most teams are still working on getting their combinations and rhythm right.”

Chiefs are searching for their first three points and Solinas is well aware of the challenge his side is facing. “We will continue to work hard to win and that’s what we have planned to do against United.”

“They have a good team,” the Amakhosi coach comments about Friday night’s opponent. “They play good football and they have some very dangerous players in their side, including Andréa Fileccia , whom I coached at Free State Stars.”

Teenage Hadebe is back in full training, but still needs a bit of time to be fully match fit and therefore didn’t travel to KwaZulu-Natal. Good news coming out of the camp is that Joseph Molangoane, who sustained a horrific injury on Saturday, was discharged from hospital and has started the long road to recovery.

“It’s great to see that ‘Tight’ is out of hospital,” remarks Solinas.

Tickets for the clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Maritzburg United are sold via Computicket, Shoprite & Checkers, SuperSave, OK MiniMark (College Road), Maritzburg United Offices (397 Victoria Road) and Just Build (Taylors Halt).

Cost of the ticket is R60 and scholar tickets (under the age of 12) at R20.
