The Glamour Boys will play against rivals Mamelodi Sundowns at noon. If Chiefs beat Sundowns they will play either Orlando Pirates or AmaZulu later on the day in the final.
“It will be the first time I play in front of such a big crowd. I am not scared at all...I am just focusing on preparing for the game,” he said.
Songwiqi, who was unveiled together with seven other players on Wednesday, said it is the realisation of his childhood dream to join the Glamour Boys. “I thank God for ‘facilitating’ this move...it has always been my dream since growing up in Port Elizabeth, to one day play for my favourite Club, Kaizer Chiefs.
“I am grateful for the opportunity and hope to work hard to justify the confidence that has been shown in me by the Technical Team and the Management,” added Songwiqi.
The 23-year-old showered praise on Siphiwe Tshabalala for helping him settle in the team. “All the guys have been very supportive. Siphiwe, as my favourite player and my role model, has really extended his hand in helping me with my game.
“He talks to me regularly on how I can improve as a player and I am amazed how humble he is, taking into consideration what he has achieved in his career thus far.
I am hoping to learn a lot, not only from him but from all my teammates, in order to help contribute to the success of the team,” he added.
