Kaizer Chiefs and their main sponsor Vodacom brought smiles and excitement to the 'Sowetans' and the shoppers at Maponya Mall on Friday afternoon, ahead of the showdown between Chiefs and Sundowns on Saturday evening.
The house nearly came down when 'Killer' Mphela, Lorenzo Gordinho, Josta Dladla, Simphiwe Mtsweni and Philani Cele arrived at the Mall's parking lot. The players didn't waste time, after greeting the supporters they took time to take pictures with their supporters and signed autographs.
"It is a clash between two good sides - 'Killer'
"I think Sundowns are a good team and they are on good form at the moment. When opponents are better you have to be two times better than them. But we have shown character recently and I think we will do well on Saturday," said 'Killer'.
Chiefs faithful Nsovo Maluleke told kaizerchiefs.com that he skipped work to be at the Roadshow," it is good to bring the Club closer to us. It makes it real to interact with the Team. It is the best, Chiefs is our lives. It is a pleasure, thanks to Chiefs and Vodacom," said Maluleke from Pimville Square.
"This is like Barcelona and Real Madrid clash in Spain. We cannot afford to make mistakes. The supporters must come in their numbers. The two sides play different football but both play entertaining football. It is going to be fireworks on Saturday," commented 'Killer'.
The Soweto Supporters Branch leadership could not contain their excitement.
"We have seen other Teams coming to Maponya but we have not seen such a big crowd. We love it, more so that the players are here and we are winning match tickets and merchandise. We are also surprised at the number of people who are signing up for the Club Membership, some received and RICAd their KC Mobile Starter Packs. We would like to thank Chiefs and Vodacom," agreed Soweto Supporters Branch leadership Fefe, Jabulani, Eddy and Kenosi.
Josta Dladla told kaizerchiefs.com that the Roadshow has been a success, "We had fun with the Supporters. It is always good to have fun with the people who support us week in week out. This is great for the Club and thanks to Chiefs and Vodacom ," said Dladla.
