Kaizer Chiefs were drawn to host First Division side Stellenbosch FC in the Nedbank Cup Last 16. Amakhosi beat Golden Arrows 3-0 in the previous round.
The draw was held and broadcasted live from the SuperSport Studios in Johannesburg’s Randburg. Both teams were not seeded.
Joseph Molangoane reacted to having to face Stellenbosch, “I am happy with the draw. It will be a repeat of last season.”
Chiefs beat Stellenbosch 3-0 in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 on Saturday night, 11 March 2017. The match was played at Athlone Stadium.
“I scored the opening goal,” Molangoane remembers, “the others were scored by Siphiwe Tshabalala and Gustavo Páez.” All goals came in the second half.
“It will be a difficult game, but we will do our best to progress to the next round,” the Chiefs winger commented.
The logistics for the Last 16 fixtures will be announced in due course.
