Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould had a successful surgery to repair his Achilles tendon on Wednesday afternoon.

The 32-year-old tore his left Achilles tendon during the CAF Champions League game against Morocco’s Raja Casablanca, when accelerating.

He was operated at Johannesburg’s Rosebank Clinic. The doctor expects a full recovery.

The defender could already leave the hospital on the same day, being at home again on Wednesday evening.

“We are looking at full training with the team in September,” says Chiefs’ physiotherapist David Milner.

Gould tore his right Achilles tendon two and a half seasons ago.
