Suffering over for Bhasera
Suffering over for Bhasera

Wednesday was a painful day for Amakhosi left back Onismor Bhasera first of all he had to pay the dentist a visit to have a painful tooth removed, visiting the dentist has not been something the Zimbabwean international has looked forward to since he was a kid. His pain was further compounded as he watched Chiefs play out a goalless draw with Platinum Stars on Wednesday evening in Tshwane, he could not participate in the match as he was serving a one game suspension.

His pain seems to have been eased with the fact that he has served the ban imposed on him and with his replacement for the Wednesday game Ditheko Mototo, collecting his third booking of the season against Stars Bhasera could well find himself facing Free State Stars in Phutadijaba on Sunday afternoon.

It was against Stars in October where Bhasera scored his first ever goal for Chiefs, when The Amakhosi defeated them 3-0 in an ABSA Premier league encounter. Bhasera has described Stars as an impressive team and believes that beating them earlier in the season has given Chiefs a slight upper hand over the team currently placed third in the league standings.

Impressive Stars

Bhasera has been well impressed by the way Stars have performed this season and was complimentary of their recent performances as he said, "Stars were not expected to do as well as they have done this season. Coming up from the first division it usually takes some teams a while to get acclimatized to the PSL, they must though be credited for the way they have done this season. The thing with them is that they do not have any fear for their opponents and they get out on to the field and just get down to the task at hand."

Phutaditjaba encounter

Stars can also a boast a sound home record this season and between their two home grounds in Bethlehem and at Phutadijaba they have been able to collect a number of big sculps. This though is not much of a concern to Bhasera who believes that Chiefs can repeat their success against Stars from earlier in the campaign, when he was amongst the goals for Chiefs in a 3-0 win.

Bhasera went on to add “ you have to look at Stars home record and admire how they have done in their own back yard and created a kind of fortress around their home grounds. The thing is we have defeated them once which was gives us a slight edge over them, and even though we playing far from Johannesburg we fortunate in that we have fans all over the country and they turn away games into home ones for us”.
