The two sides played a 2-all draw in a titanic clash at Super Stadium in October. Now both teams have a chance to close the gap between themselves and SuperSport United.
“Sundowns have assembled a talented squad and should be favourites going to this clash on Saturday,” said Nengomasha with a smile.
“Following what people and the media has been saying, it’s a chance for Downs to catch up with log leaders. We are going to this game as underdogs, but as a team we know what we want and we are focusing on our game plan.
We have gone through a lot as a team this season and that seem to have brought us together.
The spirit is high and you can see that this team also has character to challenge for the title this season,” said The General speaking to kaizerchiefs.com ahead of the training session at Chiefs Village.
Tinashe who played his heart out once more against Ajax Cape Town midweek believes that the win against the Urban Warriors was crucial for the team’s chances in the league this season.
“Our focus is of course the next game against Mamelodi Sundowns. It was important that we win at Loftus on Wednesday following a draw against Bloemfontein Celtic. The feeling was indescribable when Josta (Dladla) header found the back of the net but that is now history.”
Chiefs go to Durban this weekend having beaten Sundowns twice in the last two games hosted in the province.
“We have a good crowd in Durban and I am sure that the supporters are going to come out in numbers on Saturday.
We are playing in a beautiful stadium; in fact it is the most beautiful stadium I have ever played in.
Our wish is to continue playing well and winning games,” he concluded.
