With The Amakhosi and Sundowns having a number of Zimbabweans in their ranks there will be a reunion of sorts for Sweswe, Knowledge Musona, Zhaimu Jambo and Tinashe Nengomasha when they face their countrymen in the Sundowns line up and Sweswe is hoping for a win on Saturday.
“We will put our friendship with the likes of Esrom Nyandoro, Method Mwanjali and Nyasha Mushekwi aside on Saturday, I want to win this game so the next time we get together for a Zimbabwe national team game the Chiefs guys will have bragging rights over the Sundowns players.”
While Sweswe is looking to outdo his friends, he has admitted that he is looking in particular to facing Mushekwi.
“Nyasha has came off the bench and scored a number of goals which shows that he is hungry to succeed which is good for him. He will pose a stern test but we don’t fear him, the thing about Sundowns is that they have a few good attackers and if you concentrate just on one there are others who can punish you.”
According to Sweswe, given Sundowns fine scoring form it will be important for the Amakhosi to put up a firm display at the back.
“We have to keep our structure at the back as it will go a long way towards helping us win the game if we able to do so. As long as we hold shape at the back then we make it easy for the guys up front to do their job.”
With Knolwedge Musona a goal away from his tenth league goal of the campaign Sweswe is hoping that the Amakhosi striker hits the mark on Saturday, but has explained that there is no pressure on Musona going into the game.
“Sundowns are the league leaders they have their lead to maintain so all the pressure is really on them, I would like for Knowledge to score so he can get to ten goals but even if he does not there are other guys who can find goals for us.
There really is no pressure on us or him which is good for the team.”
