“I have seen the Amazulu attackers this season and they have a good frontline pairing, we respect what they have achieved” explained the Chiefs centre back. Who than divulged that the challenge posed by coming up against Amazulu will be a source of motivation for him.
“When you face strikers or any player for that matter who has had a good campaign for his team, you are extra determined to do well against them; we know just how vital this game is for us and for our season.
Whenever we face any major challenge as a team we are ready to conquer it together without any fear.”
Sweswe who has featured in 18 games this season for Chiefs is confident that the Amakhosi backline will help to ensure the team keeps their second consecutive clean sheet and what could be the team’s fourth in five league games.
“We need to ensure that we do not concede against Amazulu, that will be the main aim for us, as a back four we supported the goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune well against Ajax .
With us gelling well at the back in addition to helping the keeper we allowed the rest of the team to play without any pressure, with the team clicking the way we did in our last game it is an extra source of inspiration as we head to Durban.”
Sweswe who will turn thirty in August is determined to go down with a fight on Sunday, and believes the fact that Chiefs have given themselves a shot of the title going into the final game demonstrates the teams never let up attitude.
“We will make a go and battle to the end till the final minute on Sunday, eighteen days ago we were written of by many and there was no chance for us in the title race. Our team’s character and spirit came through against Ajax and now it is all about Saturday and us once again pushing for another win.”
