EL Capitan, Jimmy Tau, has extended his stay with the Club for a further three years, having been at Chiefs Village since the beginning of 2005/2006 season.

Tau’s original contract came to an end in June 2010.

Speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Tuesday morning, “Big Five”, as Tau is sometimes known in football circles, expressed his excitement, having extended his stay with the Club he supported as a young boy. “I signed on July 31, my birthday. I could not have asked for a better birthday present,” he said with a smile.

Tau has made more than 100 appearances for Kaizer Chiefs since moving in a highly publicised move from rivals, Orlando Pirates, in August 2005.

He was appointed the captain in the start of 2008/2009 season and led Kaizer Chiefs to two trophies, the MTN8 (2008) and Telkom Knockout (2009). He was also instrumental as the Club won the Supa 8 (2006) and the Telkom Knockout Cup (2007).

Tau is expected to play a big role this season as the Glamour Boys gun for more silverware.
