"I attended a number of games at the World Cup and it was an interesting adventure for me, although we play in a number of the stadiums that were used at the World Cup we do not really get to see the arena's from a spectator point of view," said Tau.
He further explained that he thoroughly enjoyed going to games, "I used the public transport like the other fans and it was wonderful to get to mingle with fans from around the world, I must admit that I got to see the stadium's that I usually play in in a very different way".
On the back of his World Cup expereince as a fan Tau say's his admiration for the Chiefs faithful who turn up all around the country to watch The Amakhosi in action around the country has grown tenfold.
As he went on to explain, "I really understand what the fans go through getting up early on a Sunday and travelling to a stadium and the anxiety they go through and joy they get out of watching their favourite team. Now you begin to appreciate all the sacrifices fans make".
Tau also believes that hosting the World Cup has helped bring to the fore the colorful side of South African fans, “the World Cup has shown the World the passion that people have in our country have for the game and I am confident this will carry over into the new PSL season”.
