Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows shared the spoils as they played to an ill-tempered goalless draw in an Absa Premiership match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday afternoon. Chiefs played an hour of the match with ten men.

The first ten minutes were pacey and Chiefs had the best chance inside the first ten minutes when striker Lehlohonolo Majoro scored, but his effort was wrongfully flagged for offside by the assistant referee.

Two minutes later the action continued at the other end as Tshepo Liphoko spun his way round on the left flank and forced Chiefs keeper Itumemleng Khune into a sprawling save that kept the scoreline goalless.

On the half hour mark, Chiefs should have taken the lead when Majoro had only the keeper to beat but he shot wide off the goal. But in the 33rd minute there was to be drama when Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane received his marching orders for a late tackle on Liphoko.

The only notable piece of action in the second half came in the 47th minute when Chiefs defender Tefu Mashamaite nearly scored as he headed Siphiwe Tshabalala's cross from a free kick over the bar with the keeper in no man's land.

In the 79th minute Chiefs could have gone ahead. Majoro played a nice pass for Gaxa on the right flank but as the right-back was freed to be one-on-one with the Arrows keeper, his attempted lob went high over the empty goal area.

In the 94th and final minute of the match Chiefs could taken all three points when he had only the keeper to beat but his shot went into the side netting on the near post.
